DESCRIPTION:*November 24th 2020\, 8.30 GMT\, 16.30 Beijing Time*\n\nVariou
s excellent talks scheduled for this meeting\, part of the Cambridge-Fudan
Cognitive Neuroscience Seminar\, that aims to facilitate research collabo
rations between Fudan University and the University of Cambridge.\n\nPROGR
AMME\n\n_Chair - Valerie Voon - Senior Principal Investigator & MRC Senior
Clinical Fellow\, University of Cambridge_\n\n*Xiao Xiao - Associate Prof
essor at Fudan University\n\nTitle - Perceptual causality in the brain: fr
om sensory perception to emotion and cognition*\n\n*Biography*\nDr. Xiao X
iao is an Associate Professor/Principal Investigator at Fudan University\,
Institute of Science and Technology for Brain-Inspired Intelligence (ISTB
 I). After receiving a B.S. in Biological Engineering at Xi’an Jiaotong U
niversity\, Dr. Xiao performed her Ph.D. studies with Dr. Yuqiu Zhang and
Dr. Zhiqi Zhao at Fudan University\, Institute of Neurobiology. Dr. Xiao
’s thesis work focused on the circuitry and molecular mechanisms that me
diate aversive behavior to pain\, which was supported by the Excellent Doc
tor Project Foundation of the Ministry of Education in China. She went on
to do a postdoc fellowship with Dr. Anthony Koleske and Dr. Michael Higley
at Yale University School of Medicine\, where she identified molecular pa
thology of synapse stabilization and neural circuit plasticity. Dr. Xiao
is the recipient of numerous awards including the Glaxo Smith Kline (GSK)
Tomorrow’s Star Award\, American Heart Association Postdoc Fellowship\,
Rising-Star Project\, etc. By combining cognitive behavioral testing\, an
array of electrophysiological and optical methods in brain slices and in v
ivo\, and machine-learning analysis\, she is interested in exploring neura
l circuit and molecular mechanism of emotional and cognitive disorders.\n
\n*Amy Milton - Senior Lecturer at University of Cambridge\, Ferreras-Will
etts Fellow in Neuroscience and Praelector\, Downing College\, Cambridge\n
\nTitle: Challenges and opportunities in exploiting memory reconsolidation
to treat addiction*\n\n*Biography*\nDr Amy Milton is a University Senior
Lecturer at the Department of Psychology\, University of Cambridge\, and t
he Ferreras-Willetts Fellow in Neuroscience at Downing College\, Universit
y of Cambridge. Her research focuses on memory reconsolidation\, from a ba
sic science perspective and its potential translation into a novel form of
treatment for mental health disorders. She received her MA after speciali
sing in Natural Sciences (Neuroscience) at the University of Cambridge\, a
nd studied for her Ph.D. in Behavioural Neuroscience (supervised by Profes
sor Barry Everitt) at the (then) Department of Experimental Psychology at
 the University of Cambridge.\n\n\nMeeting details:\nZoom ID: 651 236 21006
