 Lady Williams\, or Jane Portal as she then\nwas) worked as a personal secr
 etary for Winston Churchill. She joined his private office in December 194
 9 and remained with him until 1955\, serving throughout his second term as
  Prime Minister. She is one of the few remaining witnesses to Churchill's 
 extraordinary working habits\, and to the private man behind the public fi
 gure. Jane has kindly agreed to take questions about her experiences and h
 er remarkable former employer (our founder) over Christmas drinks with the
