DESCRIPTION:The Epoch of Reionization (EoR) signals the end of the Dark Ag
 es of the Universe and the birth of the first stars. The aim for the curre
 nt generation telescopes is to make the first statistical detection of thi
 s epoch. The foregrounds cover the cosmological data by several orders of 
 magnitude however\, and their removal remains a significant challenge. I w
 ill speak broadly about the foreground mitigation techniques currently bei
 ng used with EoR data\, with a focus on blind source separation techniques
 \, and discuss whether we have seen a first detection by EDGES\, after 8 y
 ears of searching.
