 n a time of environmental and political crisis through two apparently disp
 arate topics: writing community-scale histories of the experience of the I
 ndustrial Revolution in far-flung places\, and a consideration of the 1970
  semi-autobiographical work The Environmental Revolution by scientist and 
 policymaker Max Nicholson. The talk will partly consider Paul Warde's rece
