DESCRIPTION:I will talk about how trends observed in demographic studies o
 f protoplanetary discs enable us to test our models of the various process
 es that deplete and disperse the disc material. In particular I will show 
 how applying dust evolution models to recent data on accretion rates and m
 asses in the Lupus and Upper Scorpius star forming regions helps resolve t
 ensions in the data and places valuable constraints on both turbulence and
  photoevaporation.
