 Passcode: 564166 \n\nMonte Carlo event generators are the vital link betwe
 en theory and the complexity observed at collider experiments. Like analyt
 ic resummation\, their central parton shower component describes multiple 
 QCD radiation off partons involved in a large-momentum scattering down the
  small scales describing the inner structure of jets and radiation in betw
 een jets.\n\nCurrent approaches are based on a probabilistic evolution pic
 ture which is surprisingly accurate for certain observables. However\, the
  strive for higher precision of the parton evolution neccessitates a formu
 lation starting from scattering amplitudes. So-called non-global observabl
 es and mixing in colour space set the level of complexity of new evolution
  algorithms.\n\nIn this talk I will provide an introduction to parton evol
 ution at the amplitude level\, and discuss how corrections beyond leading 
 colour and beyond leading order can be addressed in parton branching algor
 ithms\, suited for both analytic approaches as well as a new generation of
