DESCRIPTION:I will argue that understanding the geometric properties of th
 e density matrix of a quantum point contact is enough to reproduce two key
  formulae for the quantum statistics of the charge transfer across the dev
 ice. They can also guide the design of operational protocols for generatin
 g entangled states or the design of low noise single-electron sources.\n\n
