 uture. Emerging technologies that will usher in this new economy necessari
 ly include electrochemical innovations in energy storage and in steelmakin
 g. By way of examples of each\, this seminar will describe the liquid meta
 l battery (energy storage) and molten oxide electrolysis (decarbonized ste
 elmaking). In the narratives of both of these emerging technologies there 
 are lessons more broadly applicable to innovation: posing the right questi
 on\, engaging young minds (not experts)\, establishing a supportive cultur
 e\, and inventing inventors.\n
