DESCRIPTION:The seminar will report on the Belle II experiment\, a new det
 ector that has recently started taking data\nat the SuperKEK electron-posi
 tron collider after ten years of preparation\, construction\, and\ncommiss
 ioning. We will briefly review the motivation\, the design requirements an
 d choices made\, and\nreport on the status of the detector. After discussi
 ng some early results we will review the physics\nprogram of the experimen
 t and present the outlook.
