DESCRIPTION:Autonomous vehicles require sensors and algorithms for (i) loc
 alization/navigation\, (ii) mapping of stationary obstacles and landmarks\
 ,\n(iii) tracking of moving targets and (iv) collision avoidance. These su
 bjects are usually treated separately in literature\, though there are man
 y interconnections. Model-based holistic approaches for cars and manned or
  unmanned aerial vehicles are presented\, and preliminary results from our
  test platforms are presented.
