DESCRIPTION:Research into the seismic performance of structures with oil\n
dampers has so far been driven primarily by the structural\nengineering co
mmunity. Influential experimental work on\nthe topic originates mainly fro
 m medium-to-large scale\nshaking table testing of fixed-base frames\, with
limited\nexperimental efforts to evaluate dynamic soil-structure\ninterac
tion in such structures. This research seeks to\naddress this by pioneerin
g the application of high-gravity\ngeotechnical centrifuge testing as a vi
able research tool to\ninvestigate dynamic SSI in buildings with oil dampe
 rs.
