DESCRIPTION:Piled foundations supporting tall wind turbines are\nsubjected
  to inclined and remarkable eccentric loads\nduring their life span due to
  extreme wind conditions. A\nnovel\, exact solution for failure envelopes 
 of pile\ngroups under combined axial-moment load based on\ntheorems of lim
 it analysis is presented and discussed.\nThe attention is then placed on t
 he results of an\nintense centrifuge program aimed at validating the\nabov
 e solution. The focus is set finally on a recent\,\nphysically motivated m
 athematical framework for\nsettlements and rotations prediction of piled\n
 foundations under eccentric load. The new concepts\nand ideas emerging fro
 m this research may lead to\ntangible and intangible advantages in the fie
 ld of\nrenewable energy industry.
