DESCRIPTION:Every day\, we used advanced wireless technologies such as WIF
I\, Bluetooth or 4g networking. These technologies allow us to transmit la
rge quantities of data between our devices in very little time and have be
come so good that we often don't stop to think if there exist other ways t
o transmit data wirelessly. However\, for some class of problems\, using t
he aforementioned technologies is not ideal. As an example\, if we wish to
create a network of small battery-powered sensors\, Bluetooth puts a big
limit on the range\, WIFI consumes too much power while only improving ran
ge slightly\, and cellular requires expensive subscriptions and nearby cel
l-towers. A better solution for this problem is using a Low Power Wide Acc
ess Network (LPWAN)\, which offers greater coverage and lower power usage\
, at the expense of bandwidth. In this talk\, I will discuss LoRaWAN\, whi
ch is an example of a real-world LPWAN\, and the modulation technology LoR
a of which it is based on.
