DESCRIPTION:Marie-Anne Coninsx is a former official of the European Union 
 (EU)\, with an extensive European diplomatic career. She was the first EU 
 Ambassador at Large for the Arctic (2017-2019) and was previously the EU`s
  Ambassador to Canada (2013-2017)\, where she extensively visited the Cana
 dian Arctic. She also previously served as the number two at the EU Delega
 tions in New York and in Geneva\, providing her with an wide-ranging exper
 ience on multilateral issues. Her talk will give us an insight into this i
 mpressive experience and introduce the climate change challenges facing th
 e Arctic today. She will discuss the environmental and geo-economic conseq
 uences of ice melting in the Arctic and how the many raw materials in the 
 European Arctic could be sustainably sourced. She will also discuss Green
