DESCRIPTION:Tandem repeat rich centromeres were always difficult to assemb
 le and therefore information we have on their structure is scarce. The eme
 rgence of new long read sequencing data gives us a chance to investigate t
 hese regions\, but we lack comprehensive tools to identify and characteris
 e them. In this talk I will present my efforts in de novo identification o
 f Arabidopsis thaliana repeats from a new ungapped assembly together with 
 analysis of its higher order structure and compare it to recently released
  human  centromeric assembly. Extending the analysis to other species migh
 t give us insight into the centromere formation and evolution.\n
