DESCRIPTION:The ATLAS collaboration at the LHC performs many independent s
earches for new heavy resonances beyond the Standard Model. The plethora o
f new physics theory models for most of these searches generally fit into
categories of searches for Spin-0\, Spin-1\, or Spin-2 new heavy bosons\,
and their subsequent decay into various final state signatures. The ATLAS
heavy resonance combination (HRC) effort\, aims to statistically combine a
s many of these searches as possible\, to maximise the sensitivity to new
physics given the current dataset\, and in the event of a discovery\, help
to characterise the nature of the new physics phenomena. This talk will w
alk through the preparation and tasks involved in performing a heavy reson
ance combination\, present some interesting results\, and talk about the f
uture of such efforts in ATLAS.\n
