DESCRIPTION:Cambridge Humanist Group\n\nWhat we do - We are a local group 
 and welcome guests and those interested in finding out more about a ration
 al approach to life.\n\nAt our meetings\, which are open\, we explore and 
 discuss ethical and social issues\, such as human relationships\, medical 
 ethics (eg\, in reproduction and euthanasia)\, environmental issues\, ethi
 cal investment\, fair trade\, other belief systems\, scientific ethics (eg
 \, genetic modification)\, issues in mental health\, our relationships wit
 h other species\, law and justice.\n\nOur activities centre around two mon
 thly evening meetings:\n- one is usually a talk followed by a discussion t
 hough sometimes we just gather to discuss a prearranged topic \n- the othe
 r is an opportunity to talk about anything at an informal social meeting a
 t the Free Press\, Prospect Row (behind Parkside Police Station)\, Cambrid
 ge. \n\nIn addition we usually have three weekend social events during the
  year\, such as a picnic and a garden party in the summer and a pub lunch

 n\nMembers are kept informed of events and news with a quarterly newslette
 r.  Members can suggest topics or speakers for meeting and  contribute vie
 ws to the newsletter.\n\nHumanist ceremonies - One of our members is a hum
 anist ceremonies officiant who can give advice and assistance with non-rel
 igious funerals\, marriages and naming ceremonies. Get in touch with her v

 our objectives\, and membership to the BHA (British Humanist Association)
