DESCRIPTION:Gersten conjectured that every one-relator group with no Baums
 lag-Solitar subgroups is hyperbolic. We place this conjecture in an algebr
 aic setting\, and prove results about the resulting class of groups with a
  focus on JSJ-decompositions.
