DESCRIPTION:Andy Clark was educated at the Universities of Cambridge and B
irmingham\, and worked as a postdoc for Cancer Research UK before taking u
p a lectureship at the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology (then based in Ha
mmersmith). In 2012 he was appointed as Professor of Inflammation Biology
at the University of Birmingham\, where he is now Deputy Director of the I
nstitute of Inflammation and Ageing.\n\nAndy’s research focuses on mecha
nisms of regulation of inflammatory responses\, principally in macrophages
and fibroblasts. He has published extensively on the anti-inflammatory ac
tions of glucocorticoids and the post-transcriptional regulation of pro-in
flammatory gene expression. His seminar at the Babraham Institute will dis
cuss how signalling pathways regulate inflammatory responses of macrophage
s via phosphorylation and dephosphorylation of the RNA-binding protein tri
stetraprolin (TTP).\n\nClick here to join live - https://us06web.zoom.us/j
