DESCRIPTION:In this talk I will outline the open source Multiscale Univers
al Uniface (MUI) software library that provides the capability to couple s
cientific codes for multi-physics and multi-scale applications. The librar
y is freely available and developed in C++\, with wrappers for C/Fortran a
nd Python available. It provides a simple interface around complex MPI-bas
ed communications between two or more solvers\, as well as an extensible t
oolkit of spatial and temporal sampling techniques. It is general in desig
n\, with data transmitted as a point cloud contained within its own data s
tructure\, allowing for coupling between methods using different discretis
ation strategies. Examples of ways the library has been used include coupl
ing Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) to Dissipative Particle Dynamics
(DPD)\, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to the Finite Element Method (
FEM) and Molecular Dynamics (MD) to Direct Simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC).
The design and structure of the library will be shown alongside performanc
 e metrics\, followed up with applied examples.\n\nZoom link: https://zoom.
