DESCRIPTION:I shall describe the role of exponentially small<br><br> terms
  in some PDEs and related differential difference equations\, and ask<br><
 br> questions about possible commonalities with QFTs. While I am mainly in
 terested<br><br> in dissipative (parabolic) cases\, I shall - for reasons 
 that are presumably<br><br> obvious - focus on properties shared by the co
 rresponding time-reversible<br><br> (hyperbolic) models.
