.us/j/94018037756\n\nAn active particle in a box is a minimal model system
displaying characteristic properties of active matter such as effective a
ttraction and breaking of detailed balance. In this talk I present analyti
cal results for the steady state properties of this system\, including the
entropy production rate\, showing its derivative is maximal at a point of
a qualitative change in the system behavior. In addition\, I will discuss
the force applied to objects by active particles with spatially inhomogen
eous activity. This force has the form of an Archimedes principle in 1D\,
which is broken and modified in higher dimensions.\n\nReferences:\nN. Razi
