DESCRIPTION:Quantum phase transitions in metallic magnets are a popular r
oute to unconventional "non-Fermi" liquids. We describe an alternate route
\, starting from a non-magnetic\, band insulator. Depending on the impurit
y used to induce metallicity\, different levels of quantum fluctuations ar
 e introduced\, and Fermi or non-Fermi-liquid behaviour is found.\n
