DESCRIPTION:In this talk I will begin with an overview of the importance o
f receptivity on boundary layer flows and how this affects the motion of b
alls in sport. I will then describe the mathematical structure of leading-
edge receptivity focusing on work in progress on the relationship between
different classes of asymptotic eigensolutions of the unsteady boundary la
 yer equations.
