e contacts on Covid-19 transmission within secondary schools in England -

DESCRIPTION: Since secondary schools have fully reopened\, secondary schoo
l pupils have been strongly encouraged to participate in twice weekly mass
testing using lateral flow device tests (LFTs)\, to minimise the increase
in transmission associated with reopening schools. Other strategies invol
ving LFTs have also been considered previously\, such as serial contact te
sting. This talk presents an individual-based model used to evaluate the r
elative impact of different school reopening strategies on within-school t
ransmission and absences\, before discussing how this model can be extende
d to gain an insight into the impact that mass testing via LFTs is having
on within-school transmission at current levels of uptake.
