DESCRIPTION:An introductory talk about the activities of Medicines Discove
 ry Catapult\, including  the opportunity to set up 1:1 meetings with the t
 eam.\n\n \nMDC provides extensive expertise in industrial medicines discov
 ery and informatics combined with access to innovative technologies\, plat
 forms\, and outsourced\, multiparty R&D. We can also help you access patie
 nt samples and valuable patient insights. We can get under the skin of you
 r medicine discovery project\, helping uncover the path to your success. E
 very new challenge brought to us is a chance to leverage our skills and ca
 pabilities\, helping us to enhance the capabilities of our collaborators.\
 n\nMDC works with academics and SMEs in a variety of ways\, including coll
 aborating on and supporting grant applications. \n\nMartin worked in the p
 harmaceutical industry for 25 years\, at Merck\, GlaxoSmithKline and Astra
 Zeneca. Martin has extensive expertise in early-stage drug discovery\, hav
 ing previously led the Discovery Biology UK department at AstraZeneca whic
 h had the remit of reagent generation (purified proteins\, cell models) an
 d assay development (biochemical\, cellular\, high-content).\nIn his curre
 nt role at MDC\, Martin’s group is focused on the advancement and applic
 ation of a range of drug discovery technology platforms\, including mass-s
 pectrometry and high-resolution microscopy\, with a particular focus on pr
