DESCRIPTION:DeFi today is what internet was in the early 00s. Blockchain\,
  the tokenization of assets\, NFTs - these innovations are going to increa
 singly change the way we operate in traditional markets. Join this Tech Ta
 lk to explore decentralized finance with two algorithmic traders at Winter
 mute\, one of the largest players in the global digital asset markets. \n\
 nIn this session we will explain what is wrong with traditional financial 
 markets and how disruptive technologies like blockchain are solving these 
 issues. We will touch briefly on the history of decentralized finance\, sp
 ecifically Ethereum\, and to dive deep into the current state of the lands
 cape and the challenges that are (or will be) fronting DeFi as it evolves.
  \n\nPresenters\n\nHaashir Ashraf is an algorithmic DeFi trader at Winterm
 ute. He was the fourth employee at Wintermute and has extensive experience
  in the crypto landscape. Prior to joining Wintermute\, he graduated with 
 a degree in theoretical physics from King’s College and trades in tradit
 ional financial markets.\n\nSanti D’Ornellas is an algorithmic DeFi trad
 er at Wintermute. He holds a dual masters degree in management and finance
  from IE Business School. Prior to joining Wintermute\, he worked in equit
 y derivative sales at Natixis. Santi has years of experience trading acros
 s asset classes and financial products for his own book. He has been invol
 ved in the crypto currency landscape since 2016 and continues to stretch h
 is limits and learn more about the industry in his work as a trader at Win
