DESCRIPTION:In recent years\, the Museum has operated a custom-built X-ray
  imaging laboratory\, equipped with a high-power X-ray source and the capa
 bility for computed tomography (CT) scanning. This talk will give an overv
 iew of X-ray imaging in the Museum\, including the uncovering of cuneiform
  writing concealed within a 4000-year-old Mesopotamian clay envelope and u
 nderstanding the metalworking techniques of the 13th century Islamic world
 .
