DESCRIPTION:This talk will reflect on some lessons learnt from working wit
 h Kent Berridge on addiction and the wanting/liking distinction. In partic
 ular I will be talking about the signficance of wanting\; the distinction 
 between its presentation as a dispositional and as an occurrent state\; th
 e role of higher order desires\; the role of self-control\; and the possib
 le role of pleasure. It will be a little short on firm conclusions\, excep
 t those concerning how much remains unclear.
