DESCRIPTION:I received my BSc in medical laboratory science (microbiology)
in 2009 from Sudan University of Science and Technology (SUST)\, Khartoum
\, Sudan. While working in SUST as a teaching assistant then as a lecturer
after receiving an MSc in medical laboratory science\, I realised that I
had to go Europe or North America to be able to do cutting-edge research\,
due to lack of resources. Having been inspired by great discoveries in im
munology\, I've always known that I want to be an immunologist. In 2015\,
I was awarded a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAA
 D) to do PhD at the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI)\, Brauns
chweig\, Germany. Since 2019\, after obtaining my PhD\, I've been working
as a postdoctoral research fellow at UCL's Institute of Immunity and Trans
 plantation\, London\, UK. In this webinar\, I'll summarise my journey as a
black immunologist in academia through three different countries\, with a
particular emphasis on the difficulties I faced in obtaining funding for
graduate studies.\n\nJoin the webinar live using this link - https://us06w
