DESCRIPTION:I will review some recent work\, partly in collaboration with
 N. Lambert\, A. Lipstein and P. Richmond\, in which we explore a class of
highly-supersymmetric non-Lorentzian gauge theories in five dimensions. Fo
cussing first on symmetries\, I will explain how such models encode the dy
namics of 6d SCFTs on flat Minkowski space\, before discussing how 6d dyna
mical observables are realised in practise. I will finally discuss a few i
nteresting aspects of these models\, including a close analogy with Chern-
Simons-matter theories for M2-branes\, and the recovery of the classic DLC
Q description of M5-branes in a particular degenerate limit.
