 JUqc-moqjgsEtOkQhQ3uMaF9T89La0RUTi-\n\nAbout this talk\n\nLinkage of admin
istrative data from different sources can help us better understand the di
stribution of health and disease in populations. Linking data for mothers
and babies allows us to create electronic cohort studies that cover a high
proportion of the population\, and to generate highly generalisable evide
nce to inform public policy. However\, linkage is not always straightforwa
rd\, particularly when we would like to link cross-sectoral data in order
to understand social determinants of health. In this talk\, I will discuss
some of the opportunities for research using electronic birth cohorts\, a
nd some of the challenges that we should try to address when using these d
ata for research.\n\nAbout Professor Green\n\nKatie is an Associate Profes
sor in quantitative methods at the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Ch
ild Health. Her methodological research aims to develop methods to exploit
the rich data that are collected about populations as we interact with se
rvices throughout our lives. Katie’s applied research focuses on maximis
ing the use of existing data sources to improve services for vulnerable mo
thers and families. Her current research links data from health\, educatio
n and social care at a national level\, in order to improve our understand
ing of the health of individuals from birth to young adulthood.
