DESCRIPTION:_To commemorate the centenary of the passing of 'Abdu'l-Bahá\
 , the Cambridge University Bahá'í Society has arranged online talks by e
 ight international speakers. Each speaker will focus on one theme based on
  the teachings and life of this unique individual and its relevance to our
  world today. This is the third talk in the series._\n\n*Re-imagining Rura
 l/Urban Relationships: 'Abdu'l-Bahá on Reciprocity*\n\nWhy are cities ass
 ociated with dynamism and wealth and rural areas associated with economic 
 stagnation and decline? More than one hundred years ago\, 'Abdu'l-Bahá en
 visioned and strove to create forms of urban/rural relationships that woul
 d foster prosperity for everyone. This talk describes His vision\, and wha
 t might be elements of the path to bringing it to reality.\n\nHolly Hanson
  is a professor emeritus of history at Mount Holyoke College\, where for m
 ore than two decades she taught courses on African history\, the history o
 f global inequality\, and the comparative global history of small-scale ag
 riculture. She has authored To Speak and Be Heard: Seeking Good Government
  in Uganda\, ca. 1500-2015\, A Path of Justice: Building Communities with 
 the Power to Shape the World\, Landed Obligation: the Practice of Power in
  Buganda\, Social and Economic Development: A Bahá'í Approach\, and nume
 rous essays on the history of East Africa and Bahá'í thought regarding s
 ocial transformation. Hanson currently serves as Coordinator of the Resear
 ch Department at the Bahá'í World Centre\, Israel.\n\nTo register and ha
