DESCRIPTION:We introduce mean field limits of interacting particles\, and
prove Dobrushin's '79 result on convergence to a limiting PDE for Lipschit
z interaction forces. We explain connections with molecular chaos. We outl
ine the current state of the art of mean field limits for singular forces\
, especially systems of 2D vortices and of charged particles. We explain h
ow large deviation principles allow us to obtain mean field limits for 2D
 vortex systems.
