DESCRIPTION:I will describe an initial foray into looking at how category 
 theory fits into the field of optimization.  The dual of the standard opti
 mal transport problem admits a duality within itself which is intimately r
 elated to an adjunction arising from a profunctor.  I will look at the cen
 tre of this adjunction in some detail and relate it to other adjunctions c
 ropping up in other areas.
