DESCRIPTION:The Irish saint Féichín (died 664) is generally associated w
ith the monastery of Fore in modern county Westmeath. His hagiography also
makes references to his cult among the Luigne of Connacht (modern County
Sligo). However\, the documentary sources makes almost no mention of what
appears to be a local cult in west Connemara\, centred on High Island\, an
d possibly another at St Vigean's in Scotland. This paper will consider th
e broader evidence for the saint's cult.
