DESCRIPTION:I will introduce the Einstein--Vlasov system\, the governing e
quations of collisionless kinetic theory in general relativity\, before pr
esenting theorems on the stability of certain stationary vacuum solutions.
&nbsp\;The first theorems concern the nonlinear stability of the trivial
solution\, Minkowski space\, for both the Einstein--massless Vlasov and Ei
nstein--massive Vlasov systems. &nbsp\;The massive case is joint with Hans
Lindblad. &nbsp\;Then I will present a theorem\, joint with Mihalis Dafer
mos\, Gustav Holzegel and Igor Rodnianski\, on the full finite codimension
nonlinear stability of the Schwarzschild family of black holes in vacuum.
