DESCRIPTION:For the last few years\, I've been developing an open-source s
oftware package for simulating glacier flow called Icepack together with a
team of students and PIs. Our main goals with icepack have been to make i
ce flow modeling more accessible to people who aren't experts in numerical
modeling as such and to facilitate experimentation with ice flow physics.
Recently\, I've added support for time-dependent and sparse data assimila
tion. In this talk\, I'll discuss some of the goals and design decisions w
e made\, give a live demo\, and talk about where we plan to take it in the
future. Finally\, I'll attempt to co-opt all of you into using it.
