tract: \nWe discuss both conceptual and phenomenological aspects of the QF
T and the renormalization group. A focus on\nthe ambiguities of the renorm
alization group\, the renormalons\, is provided. We show that these can be
described with a resurgent approach\, although their resummation is quant
itatively non-unique. However\, the result can be written in a determined
analytical\nexpression and parameterized with a single\, arbitrary constan
 t. In particular\, we apply the theory to the QCD\, describing the\nAdler
function in the IR limit through the contribution of the resummed renormal
ons. The resurgent expression reproduces well the behavior\nof the "experi
mental" Adler function. With this tool at hand\, we deal with the current
muon g-2 discrepancy\, investigating the possibility that it can be satura
ted by the QCD vacuum polarization function\, without the need for new par
 ticles.\n\n
