DESCRIPTION:Mauna Kea is the best site for observations at submillimeter w
avelengths in the northern hemisphere. I will present a broad overview of
a range of programs in star and planet formation that we have carried out
with the\nthree submillimeter telescopes (CSO\, JCMT\, SMA) on the summit
in the last few years. Topics to be covered include a 1.1mm survey of the
Galactic plane\, CO mapping of interstellar bubbles\, starless cores in c
luster forming regions\, and circumstellar disks in Orion. I will end wit
h some thoughts on how the cosmochemical discovery of 60Fe in our Solar Sy
 stem ties these subjects together.\n\n
