DESCRIPTION:Type Ia Supernovae (SNe Ia) are standardisable candles\, used
to measure luminosity distances and place constraints on cosmological para
meters. To improve SN Ia standardisation\, we must understand the astrophy
sical ties between the SNe and their host galaxies. By analysing SN siblin
gs – those that occur in the same host galaxy – we mitigate scatter in
the distance estimates from the global host galaxy properties\, which in
turn allows us to evaluate our modelling of the remaining systematic uncer
tainties\, e.g. dust\, intrinsic SED modelling\, and local host galaxy pro
perties. In this talk\, I will discuss our work using BayeSN\, a hierarchi
cal Bayesian model of the SN Ia SEDs\, to analyse the first example of a t
rio of SN Ia siblings in a Cepheid calibrator galaxy\, NGC 3147.
