DESCRIPTION:The 2.7255 K blackbody radiation is a rich testament from the
Big Bang. I will show how the Planck function and its derivatives are cent
ral to millimetre experimental cosmology. I will present a short historica
l perspective (COBE\, WMAP\, Planck satellites). Then I will show how the
latest experiments (NIKA2 on the IRAM 30m\, Concerto on APEX 12m)\, develo
pped in Grenoble\, expand on the Planck legacy\, using state-of-the-art KI
Ds (Kinetic Inductance Detectors) in ever increasing numbers.
LOCATION:Hoyle Lecture Theatre (sign-up needed) + ONLINE - Details will be
  sent by email
