DESCRIPTION:A set of measurements is currently strongly pointing towards b
eyond the Standard Model in particle physics: the so-called `flavour anoma
lies’. I will describe these measurements in general terms and describe
what new physics can explain them. The new physics quantum fields come in
two classes: flavour-changing leptoquarks or Z-primes. I will say how thes
e can be found by direct searches in particle colliders\, and how they may
shed light on the fermion mass puzzle.
LOCATION:Both in-person (at MR2\, DAMTP) and online (details to be sent by
  email)
