DESCRIPTION:As with engineering for safety and security\, we need to move 
 to unpack the concept of privacy to categorise and quantify the requiremen
 ts likely to arise from ethical\, professional\, regulatory and legal cons
 iderations. In this talk I will discuss some of those requirements and som
 e of the techniques that might be deployed to meet them in areas such as P
 rivacy Enhancing Technologies and Higher-Order Cryptography.
