DESCRIPTION:The spin of partons in a nucleon may be described by helicity 
 distribution functions and transversity distribution functions. Methods fo
 r determining the quark and gluon spin structure from electroweak and stro
 ng asymmetries will be highlighted. Spin effects are also important in eva
 luating the polarisation level achieved after acceleration of protons to h
 igh energies. Intense polarised antiproton beams would aspire to provide n
 ew information on time-like EM form factors and on transversity.
