DESCRIPTION:In this talk\, we discuss anomalous directional persistence of
organelles in human cells in terms of the phenomenon of cumulative inerti
a: the longer an organelle moves along a microtubule\, the less likely it
will detach from it. We suggest several non-Markovian models describing&nb
sp\; L&eacute\;vy walk dynamics in intracellular transport.&nbsp\; In part
icular\, we introduce a persistent random walk model with finite velocity
and self-reinforcing directionality\, which explains how exponentially dis
tributed runs self-organize into truncated L&eacute\;vy walks observed in
 active intracellular transport.
