DESCRIPTION:Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) combine the fast debugg
ing and time-to-market of a programmable system with the very high paralle
lism offered by a hardware platform. In this talk\, I will give an overvie
w\nof FPGA architecture and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools and my recen
t contributions in this research field. In more detail\, I will introduc
e a new benchmarking suite\, called GroundHog 2009\, that we have created
to motivate low-power research for FPGAs targeting the mobile computing do
main. I will highlight some results in this topic and then suggest some a
venues for further research in the FPGA field\nand beyond.\n
