DESCRIPTION:I will present results from a variety of recent hydrodynamical
calculations of star formation. I will begin by discussing the statistic
al properties of young stars such as the initial mass function\, multiplic
ity\, and protostellar disc properties and how these properties are predic
ted to depend on metallicity (Z > 0.01 Zsun) and redshift (between z=0 and
z=5). I will then present new results investigating dust grain growth du
ring the early stages of star formation. Finally\, I will discuss observa
tions and hydrodynamical models of the warped disc around a particular you
ng triple stellar system\, GW Orionis\, which maybe the first resolved exa
mple of a so-called broken disc.
