DESCRIPTION:We introduce a function which measures the accessibility (in t
 erms of the word metric) of non-solutions to word equations in finitely ge
 nerated groups. We estimate the growth of this function in some examples\;
  discuss the diversity of growth behaviours which can arise\, and (time pe
