tract: Data-data comparisons have been used in High Energy Physics measure
ments for the best part of a century in a number of sub fields (e.g. ratio
s of cross sections in flavour physics). Nevertheless\, data-data comparis
ons are rarely the driving force motivating LHC "Beyond Standard Model" (B
SM) searches for supersymmetry and leptoquarks where the majority of searc
hes instead compare data to a signal model generated by Monte Carlo method
 s. This talk hopes to discuss some of the consequences of making data-dat
 a comparison a starting-point rather than a way-point in the development o
f BSM searches. Applications to searches for violation of parity will be
discussed in detail\, perhaps aided by considerations relating to alien in
vasion of CERN's Restaurant 1 or difficulties faced by malacologists. Tes
ts of charge-favour symmetry violation through searches for emus will be d
 iscussed if time permits.
